angličtina, angličtina pro děti a mládež
What is your name? Eoin Dignan
Where are you from? Belfast, Northern Ireland
What do you like most about teaching? Adults have interesting stories while kids are energizing, fun and I can play silly games and sing silly songs that nobody my age usually wants to play or sing with me! It always brings a smile to my face when kids are having fun with English, especially when they knew nothing at the start, or were shy or anxious to begin with.
What do you like about the English (or Czech) language? English is very amenable to puns and wordplay and has an expression for EVERYTHING! For example...Czech is fun to fail at while trying to pronounce ridiculous phrases like ČESKÝ KŘIŠŤÁL - Unit 1 of my coursebook!
What do you like about Brno? The tram system, the forest, ILC staff ... I also find the non-ILC locals very endearing, although I'm scared of your ticks and your Albert cashiers.
What do you do in your free time? Cook and eat, mostly. I also like to run and ride my bike. I'm hoping to start playing 5-a-side football (soccer). I've been trying to learn the ukulele for an eternity - with almost zero progress. I'm about to start dance classes and I spend a lot of my free time feeling paralyzed by terror about that prospect.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Pi(e) to 9 decimal places. Fish Pie, Cottage Pie, Shepherd's Pie, Pizza Pie, Pecan Pie, Key Lime Pie, Pumpkin Pie, all cooked by my mother. OH! And... Reese's PIEces. PS: NOT mince pies - they can burn in the fiery depths of Gas Mark 7.
