What is your name? Jack Stephens
Where are you from? London
What do you like most about teaching? My favourite thing about teaching has always been the students. Teaching is a great way to meet a wide range of people and learn a lot about a lot of different things. It's especially great when you move to a new country, as you have a lot to learn. I see teaching as a kind of exchange.
What do you like about the English (or Czech) language? British English swearing is extremely expressive! I also love the flexibility of the language, and the way that you can invent a new phrasal verb for a certain situation and it can still mean something (sorry Czechs!).
What do you like about Brno? It's a city in balance. Not too big, not too small, not too quiet, not too crazy, not too old, not too young, both historical and modern. And it's a very easy place to live.
What do you do in your free time? I love films and music, I enjoy acting and writing, and in true Czech style I like arguing with my friends in the pub.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Roast potatoes, extra crispy.
